Due to the ongoing pandemic all of my teaching time is now online, and cant get feedback as easily from people in my class. This has now been made easier by the use of discord and am able to keep in contact with people from my class to get their feedback and criticism of my work which is needed.
Thanks to feedback from two fellow classmates I have made some changes to my work, making it so that the shader being used inside of the Maya view port has an increased specularity to allow me to see any issues on the model, so that I do not have anywhere to hide due to aiming for the car to be as realistic as possible.
A lot of the changes required me to clean up a lot of my topology around the model along with removing some tris which would causing pinching when I smoothed the model. Another change I did was to remake the door mirrors on the car as these were out of proportion and just looked wrong on the actual model itself. I have also made same changes to the front bumper and roof by splitting certain areas off into separate components to make the model look more realistic along with cleaning up the topology around these areas. The final major change which I have made is that of the curve lines on the door which are very subtle in real life, I had taken these too extremely on my model thus was impacting the visual look of the model I have since lessened the amount that these were protruding from the doors and side panels to improve the overall aesthetic, There are still a lot of little things which need to be changed for the model to be at a state which I am happy with but overall I feel like I am finally getting there!
