So Originally i expected my write up for my work from this week to be rather small due to being in hospital for scans, turns out I ended up doing a huge amount of work over the past few days changing a massive amount of what I had done.

The biggest changes that were made was connecting the doors to the main body of the car to keep the topology flowing through the car along with also attaching the bonnet allowing for a seamless transition from the bonnet to the front bumper and fenders. I added a bevel to both the door panels and between the bonnet and front bumper to add the effect that they are disconnected pieces.

I feel as if this drastic change was needed as it has not only reduced the overall poly count significantly it has also allowed me to make the car look more natural and free flowing throughout. I also made a few changes to the rear bumper which were needed by removing some topology which was unnecessary and was having a detrimental effect on the overall look of the car.

I have also managed to get the shroud for the headlights sorted along with most of the windows sorted which keeps the car free flowing in hopes of being able to start the interior of the car ASAP.

There are a few other small modifications like adding bevels in necessary places so when I apply the smooth modifier to the car it doesn't deform.

One major failure I was when i was trying to do the rubber for between the windows and body panels, the technique I tried to use was snapping a cylinder to a CV spline that was created from the smoothed version of the window, this encountered a few issues ranging from the window being the wrong shape when smoothed along with creating a bend in the topology for the cylinder i was trying to extrude along the curve.

My aims for this week are to get the final pass over the exterior completed to allow me to then focus on the interior along with doing a bit more research into getting the model into Assetto Corsa !

Week 11

This week feels like it has been a very slow week due to the isolation measures been put in place, I was hoping this would push me to do...
