This blog will be updated on a weekly basis, every Sunday. It will showcase my progress over the course of my 12-week Games Art Project at university.
This week I have been getting reference images for multiple different cars, which I wanted to create for my final year project at University, ultimately I decided to go with the Nissan GT-R from 2014. This was a slow start for myself as I finished off gathering reference images and had to create a proposal document that required some time to gather reference sources etc. So far, modelling wise, I am starting off with the wheels on the car and have made progress into nearly completing these, I also started to do a rough blockout of the main body of the car for reference later on down the line. I was also able to get the model out of Assetto Corsa to be able to look at their topology, along with understanding how they have created certain aspects of the car.
I am also looking into how to get cars inside of Assetto Corsa, either as a new car or to replace an existing model inside of the game, to be able to show the car driving around a track and prove that I can work both in engine along with being able to model.
For the following week I am going to be working on getting more of an overall blockout for the car done, including the main body and both the front and rear bumper.
